A Unique Student Organization
It all started with a group of students who developed a common passion towards economic geology. It wasn’t long before Sofia University SEG Student Chapter was “officially” born.
Founded in 2001 and based in Sofia, Bulgaria, our Student Organisation is a devoted community made up of enthusiastic individuals who enjoy sharing ideas and activities. The chapter was active for six years, then dormant from 2007 to 2010 and it was re-activated in 2011.
As part of the Society of Economic Geologists (SEG) our main purpose is to improve our knowledge and skills in the field of economic geology through field trips in foreign countries, hosting events with guest lecturers and interacting with fellow geologists. By doing so we have the amazing opportunity to learn from industry professionals in the field and also improve our networking and soft skills.
